The Forest Game Delayed but 4th Trailer Coming Soon

With only a few days to go until the release of The Forest, Endlight Games have all but confirmed that the game will be delayed beyond the 22nd of May release date. It looks likely that the game will be pushed back another week to the 30th of May.

Update

Ben has confirmed that the Forest is delayed, by at least a week (30th May). See the message he posted below:

"We are releasing this month! A couple days later than our target date to fix some last minute issues. We’re going to be out on May 30th! We’re really excited about the release, it’s going to be awesome."

There's been no official word yet from Ben Falcone or Endlight Games, but one of the developers known as Tara @Skunkie let slip that the game wasn't ready for the initial Alpha launch date and Ben would be announcing the new date soon. The full conversation was later deleted from Twitter but some of it still remains:

It's not clear why the game was delayed but it would have to be a major bug at this stage to delay an already Alpha version of the game. Before the Tweet was deleted, Tara did say that the game would certainly release before the end of May.

4th Trailer

On a positive note, the 4th Trailer is due very soon and there's little doubt that the final trailer will only increase the hype around the game, which could possibly be the best horror survival game of 2014. Whether it achieves that success or not depends on the creative skill of the team at Endlight Games, I just hope it's not another WarZ.
