The Forest v0.0.6 - Resettable Traps, New Tribe and Save without Sleeping

the forest
Version 6 of The Forest comes with another sizable list of bug fixes but there's also a few very welcome additions thrown in. In particular, players can now reset any of their traps and save progress at any time without the need to sleep.
Let's take a look at each of the major features in v0.0.6:
Save game without sleeping
Before v6 you had to build a shelter and then sleep to save the game. This lost you precious time and you'd take the risk of waking up during the night when hostile cannibals could be on patrol. I found myself saving the game less often, preferring to take risks rather than loose time. There was also the fact that the forest would sometimes regrow and glitch out.
Now in v0.0.6 you can actually save the game without the need to sleep at the shelter.
Resetting traps
Resetting traps is another big feature which was noticeably absent when traps were first included. Rather than having to construct more and more traps you can strategically place a trap and then reset it indefinitely to fend off attacks.
There's a period of time before the trap can be reset but it's not that long. This makes traps a renewable weapon that will never run out of ammunition unlike the Flare Gun or Bow and Arrows.
New Tribe - Starving Cannibal
A new tribe has been added to the game and it's called the starving cannibal. This tribe member will happily eat his fallen comrades to satisfy his hunger and you'll find him patrolling the forest just as you would other cannibals. However, unlike other cannibals he's more likely to be preoccupied with eating rather than scouting you out.
In addition to the new cannibal, the behaviour changes in v6 mean that tribes are more likely to interact with other tribes, this includes mounting attacks against each other as well as co-operating to hunt you down!
New Cave System
A new underground cave system has been added near the Geese lake. So far, it appears to be much larger than the other caves and includes an underground lake. I've not had that much time to explore it yet but there's an entrance to another large village which I'll explore next.
SPACE bar to skip intro
The option to skip the intro was actually added in v0.0.5 but no one knew about it because the devs forgot the hint message! Now in v0.0.6 you'll see the hint message during the intro and pressing the SPACE bar will skip it, saving you much pain.
Other noticeable changes in v0.0.6
- More interaction between tribes - hunting, stalking, killing and eating each other
- You can set off your own traps if you get too close
- 5 x new plant types
- You can remove ghost structures so long as no resources have been added
- Walls can be destroyed by chopping them with axes (you reclaim resources)
- Rabbits are faster, making them harder to catch
