Sorry, No Minecraft 1.3 Snapshot this week (12w11)

Jon from Mojang has revealed that we're not going to get a 12w11 snapshot for Minecraft. Jeb is on holiday in America and Jon's been taking ill with flu. This would have been the first Minecraft 1.3 snapshot.

These things happen from time to time and we've been so spoilt with the consistency of snapshots over the last 3 months that you start to take them for granted. To help pass the time why not give these other things a try..

Download the Mob Radar mod

The mob radar mod is amazing. Install the mod and you'll get a mini radar in the top right hand corner of the screen. It detects all mobs, players and some objects including XP orbs, boats and minecarts. You can even configure the radar to show only the mobs you want to detect. Fantastic!

Feast your eyes on these new biome creations in ExtraBiomesXL..

These extra biomes were created by Mr Fiber who is the developer for ExtaBiomesXL. You can follow his tweets over at https://twitter.com/#!/MisterFiber. There 28 new biomes included in the mod!

• Deadlands - dark, serious dark obsidian land
• Gravel Beach - tonnes and tonnes of never ending gravel
• Dark Forest - a dark and eerie forest area (this one needs a ghost mob!)
• Bog - muddy and dead wasteland
• Mystic Forest - magical forest with the occasional giant mushroom or two
• Oasis - a desert biome but with isolated water areas and palm trees
• Wheat fields - fields of wheat, a farmers heaven

• Alps - snow covered mountainous areas
• Autumn woods - brown decaying woods
• Forested Islands - small island groups with dense forests
• Glacier - imagine Siberia with some serious mountain ranges
• Green hills - classic minecraft with a twist
• Green swamp - forest areas scattered with overgrowth and trees
• Ice wasteland - it's the north pole!
• Marsh - grass and water, that's all you're gona see here
