Official Minecraft 1.3 Released - Trip Wires, Trading, Ender Chests!!

The day has finally arrived when Minecraft 1.3 gets its official release. At roughly 2pm BST on 01/08/2012 you can update your version of Minecraft and even play on new Minecraft 1.3 SMP servers. Following weeks of enticing snapshots and a horde of new features, the official version of Minecraft 1.3 will be disclosed with a new video trailer.

If you missed the snapshots for 1.3 then you'll be pleased to know that the final version includes trip wires, villager trading, Ender chests, internal single player server and many other fantastic additions. The rumours about Minecraft 2 have been circulating the web for months now. So, Notch being his usual self, revealed secret plans for the sequel to Minecraft in his Minecraft 2 concepts drawing. As you can see from the illustration, Notch was toying with the rumour mill once again! Dam you Notch!!

Minecraft 1.4 Features Revealed

1.3 has only just been released and the Mojang team are already discussing new features. Just recently, Jeb and Nathan Adams let slip that Minecraft 1.4 would include these new features:

New Adventure Mode block

It's a redstone powered block that runs SPC commands. Tell the block which commands you want to run and then let the redstone activate the command. You can use any of the built in commands such as teleport, time change or giving players items. It's perfect for adventure maps, hence the name - The Adventure Mode Block (official name TBC).



Zombies infecting villagers

They infect villagers who in turn become zombies too. Depending on difficulty, the chances of a villager being infection upon contact with a zombie are:

• Normal: 50%
• Hard: 100%

It's going to be just like a horror survival if those zombies get too close to a village! RE6 watch out!!
