Notch helping Jeb to get Minecraft 1.8 released on 8th September
Posted in
minecraftEarlier, Jeb (one of the leading Minecraft developers) posted that he thought it was unlikely that Minecraft 1.8 would be released on Thursday 8th Sept as planned. Since then, Notch has stepped in to help Jeb complete the finishing touches to the adventure update.
Following the warm feedback from
PAX 2011, Notch, Jeb and the rest of the team at Mojang have been working hard to get Minecraft 1.8 released. The majority of features have been completed but some of the rough edges and bugs are still outstanding.
Jeb also mentioned that traditionally they don't release Minecraft updates on Fridays so that counts 9th September out of the equation. Hopefully the delay won't take us into the 3rd week of September. Or maybe the team will break tradition and do a Friday release?
Once the new version is ready you'll be able to download Minecraft 1.8 through the usual in-game update system.
