Mo Creatures - The Best Minecraft Mod of all Time!!

DrZhark has been working on Mo Creature since the early days of Minecraft and wow has he made a great contribution to the community. With over 30 new mobs the mod is one of the best of all time.

We all love new mobs don't we? It's got to be the best part of receiving new updates from Mojang.

The problem with waiting for Mojang is that they've got enough to worry about trying to fix bugs and improve the overall game that mobs are usually few and far between. We've seen some great additions in 2012 including the new Golem and Ocelot mobs included in Minecraft 1.1 and Minecraft 1.2. Jeb and Job are doing a great job so we can't complain.

If you like to dabble in the mod area than DrZhark (real name unknown but he's a hero) has created over 30 new mobs which are compatible with every major version of Minecraft. That's right, this is not your usual mod that comes into the community and loses support after a couple of months. No, this guy's been working on Mo Creatures for over 18 months and he's refined and perfected the mod to provide the perfect addition to your Minecraft experience.

Each mob in the Mo Creatures collection comes with a splendid texture skin, realistic movement and behaviour. These creatures aren't just simple additions to the environment either. Some can be tamed, you can ride some, others will attack you and they'll drop items etc..

The mod even comes with its own spawn menu so you can adjust how often a mob will appear. So if you don't like the sharks because they are too aggressive, just change the setting to stop them spawning.

How to install



Mo CreaturesBefore you can install Mo Creatrues you will need to download and install:

ModLoader
Audiomod
GUI Api
CustomModSpawner

It's very important that you install ModLoader, AudioMod and GUI Api first. All of these will go into the minecraft.jar file.

Follow these instructions to install each of these:

  • 1. Find your Minecraft data folder by typing %appdata% into the Windows run prompt (it's the START button -> Search box in Windows 7)
  • 2. Open the .minecraft folder
  • 3. Open the bin folder
  • 4. Open the minecraft.jar file using WinRAR (right click, open with WinRAR)
  • 5. Open the ModLoader.zip fileusing WinRAR
  • 6. You should have two WinRAR windows open now
  • 7. Select all the files from ModLoader window and drag and drop them into the minecraft.jar window.
  • 8. Close the WinRAR window for ModLoader.


Repeat steps 5 and 6 above for AudioMod and GUI Api.

Now we've done that, we can install Mo Creatures.

Install Mo Creatures

This is completely different so close all your WinRAR windows.

Then follow these steps:

  • 1. Go back to the .minecraft folder we opened earlier (NOT the bin folder)
  • 2. Open the Mo Creatures.zip file using WinRAR
  • 3. Drag and drop all folders and files from Mo Creatures into the .minecraft folder
  • 4. Choose the option to replace all folders and files (merge)


That's's it! You've installed Mo Creatures, now go enjoy my friends!!!

  • Jellyfish - translucent, poisonous
  • Stingrays - commonly found at the bottom of water areas
  • Manta rays - peaceful creatures

  • Crocodiles - aggressive, land and water based creatures

  • Scorpions -deadly little buggers that attack at night

  • Rats - these can bite you at night
  • Deer - peaceful creatures that drop pork
  • BigCats - lions, tigers, cheetahs, panthers, leopards
  • Lil fish - 10 different kinds of fish including piranhas

  • Sharks - attack anything that falls into water
  • Werewolves - humans that transform into wolves!
