MinecraftCon 2011 in Vegas - Meet Notch, Game Launch Date

Want to meet Notch and celebrate the launch of Minecraft on 11/11/2011? Prepare to get yourself over to Vegas because that's where Notch and the rest of the team at Mojang are intending to launch the game. There will be a live launch on stage, questions and answer sessions and loads of food and drink.

The last MinecraftCon (in 2010) was in Bellevue, Washington – a rapidly growing city which was voted as the number 1 place to live and launch a business. Recently Americans voted Bellevue as the 4th best place to live. Vegas is nothing like Bellevue because its a major tourist attraction and basically its casino heaven!! It's the perfect place to launch something as big as Minecraft!!

The proposed cost of the convention is $90. It's a little high and we're sure Notch and the organisers will drop it down slightly (it excludes hotel and travel costs). Those that have already bought the Minecraft game and are participating in the Beta could get reduced ticket prices.

MinecraftCon 2011 hasn't been confirmed yet, but with close voting results between mainland Europe and the United States, combined with Notch's love of Vegas it looks pretty likely it will be there.

Just don't forget your Minecraft costume..

Who is Notch

Notch (Markus Persson) is the creator of Minecraft. He's a genius and soon to become a celebrity millionaire when Minecraft gets launched. He's originally from the beautiful Switzerland and started programming when he was 8!
