minecraftDaniel Kaplan from Mojang recently announced that the Pocket Edition of Minecraft will soon get craftable items, survival mode and mobs. The crafting system will get a facelift to work better with touch interfaces and there will be more performance improvements for mobile devices.
What new features are coming..

- Item system – a way for users to be able to pick up and collect items
- Inventory system – you all know what this is, a place to store things you've picked up
- Mobs – short for mobiles, these are of course animals and monsters (chickens, dogs, endermen, dragons, squids, cows, pigs etc..)
- Optimized code – natural algorithm to generate complex cave systems with spawners and dungeons. Optimization – making the game run faster on portable devices
Possible new features
These features are unconfirmed but may be included..
- Biomes – giant mushrooms, forests, mountains, rivers etc..
- Mod and Texture Pack support – the ability to install texture packs and mobs compatible with the Pocket Edition

- Experience Levels - gain experience levels for exploring and achieving goals
Release date for Minecraft Pocket Edition with Survival Mode
