Minecraft gets Official Bug Tracker for PC Version
Posted in
minecraftAfter using Twitter to its limit, the Mojang team have now come to accept that when you 've got several million Minecraft fans it's hard to keep up with all the issues that get submitted. They've now launched the new Minecraft Bug Tracker powered by Atlassian, which is hosted on their own website.
If any of you play Minecraft PE (Android or iOS) you'll know what the bug tracker is all about.
Basically, it's a place to submit bugs or issues that you've discovered whilst playing Minecraft. The Mojang team can organize bugs into work items or tasks and deal with them in a structured approach.
What's also great about the bug tracker is you'll know exactly when a bug has been fixed by looking at the Resolution column.
Currently the bug tracker is only for bugs in Minecraft 1.4 (or higher) but it's proving very popular with over a thousand bugs submitted in under an hour!
What information can you submit?
Currently, you can submit the following information about a bug:
- Summary
- Whether the issue should be public, private or highly private
- Which version of Minecraft is affected
- Environment - what OS, version of Java etc..
- Bug description - explain as much as you can about the bug
- Upload a screenshot of the bug
- Add a label (tag) which categorizes the bug
Just remember, the bug tracker is not the place for suggestions or recommendations. You should still use Twitter for those kinds of things.
