Minecraft 13w21a New Features - Attribute System, Horse UI, Resource Packs
Posted in
minecraftAs we predicted earlier in the week, the attribute system is included in Minecraft 13w21a. Now, items and mobs have attributes which determine the smaller details about the entity. For example, items could have a damage attribute, a slowness attribute and a health attribute. Each entity in the game is unique and the attributes which can be changed are limited at the moment.
For the time being, map makers can make use of the attributes by using an NBT editor.
NBTExplorer is one of the best editors for Minecraft at the moment. In the future, probably in next week's snapshot (13w22a), players will be able to modify attributes using new commands.
For example, there will be attribute commands to add/subtract values, increase/decrease values by percentage and even a multiplicative command to really skew values. All of these can be triggered through the usual command block and bit of Redstone magic.
New Horse UI
One of the biggest features in this snapshot is the addition of a new horse UI (see image below). The horse UI makes it easier to swap armour with a drag and drop interface. You’ll probably remember that you used to have to apply the new armour and the old one would just drop on the floor.
The new Horse UI is smoother and friendlier.
