Minecraft 1.3 Delayed until August

Jeb has given the clearest indication yet for the release of Minecraft 1.3. You may have thought that 1.3 would be just around the corner following the rather subdued performance snapshot last week. Well, you're out of luck because Minecraft 1.3 won't be available to download until 1st August.

An extra 4 weeks gives Jeb and the rest of the Minecraft team more than enough time to sneak in some new features. If they stick to the usual weekly snapshots then we're going to get another three snapshots and a pre-release before the official version sees the light of day.

It's doubtful that we'll get 3 weeks of performance improvements so get ready to see some new features and maybe a new mob! Although you won't be seeing the Sky Dimension for sometime because Jeb confirmed that it's not going to be resurrected. It's be lost in the void..

Minecraft Xbox 1.7.3 Update Almost Ready

On another note, the new update for the Xbox Edition of Minecraft has been sent for approval. Once approved by Mircosoft (usually 3-4 days), you'll be able to get your hands on some lovely pistons. See our previous post for 1.7.3 new features and bug fixes.
