Major Minecraft Translation Underway - You Can Help Jeb Too!

Jeb, now the leading developer for Minecraft, has asked the community if they would like to help by translating Minecraft into their native languages. As you might expect, Jeb's followers have amassed and the wheels of war are now in motion.
It's been a long time coming but finally the translated (globalization) versions of Minecraft are on their way. Pre-built into Minecraft, users will now have the option to select their language of choice. No more waiting for translation Mods to be updated, this is going to be official stuff from Mojang. Future updates of Minecraft will be able to detect your operating system language and decide the best language for you automatically.
How can you help translate Minecraft?
Jeb has uploaded a new Google docs file which is a shared file for people to add their translations. As you might know, Google docs is a powerful online office application that supports simultaneous editors. So you and many others can make changes all at the same time! It's smart but what else would you expect from Google!?
The downside is that this file has been griefed beyond belief and has now become invitation only. So, if you want to help Jeb, you will need to ask him to accept you into the translation group. We recommend asking him via Twitter https://twitter.com/jeb_
This is the link to the Minecraft translation Google doc:
https://docs.google.com/a/mojang.com/It's a spreadsheet file with multiple columns, each for a different language (and localization).
What languages will Minecraft be translated into?
Translations are already underway for:
- Spanish
- Italian
- German
- French
- Dutch
- Portuguese
- Japanese
- Arabic
- Hungarian
- (Pirate??)
With the Minecraft community behind this translation project, it's not going to take long before Minecraft reaches out to the far edges of the globe..
