Like Minecraft? Download Minicraft for your Android phone

minecraftIf you liked playing Minecraft and have an Android phone then we recommend you give Minicraft a go. It's the top down, 2D, Atari looking version of Minecraft developed by Notch at the Ludem Dare competition.
The game is a simplistic version of Minecraft which looks similar to the old Legend of Zelda games on the SNES. There's no sound and the player must play the game without any save feature. Unlike Minecraft, your only goal is to collect resources to defeat the evil wizard. However, the environment is much like Minecraft in that you get the chance to explore different biomes, collect resources and craft tools and weapons.
The game wasn't actually released by Notch himself, but the rules of Ludem Dare expressively state that all developers must submit their code and give up all rights to it. Someone has taken the opportunity to port the game onto the Android mobile device. Namely Folstad Consulting Inc.
It's currently free to download from here:

Notch has also confirmed that a sequel to Minicraft will be developed. It will be called MiniTale. We expect that the code for this game will not be released by Notch!
