Endermen - The new Minecraft mob for the Adventure Update

Notch has revealed details about the new mob which will be included in the Adventure Update a.k.a Minecraft 1.8. It's big, creepy and more scary that any other mob seen so far. Say hello to Endermen!

There's been a lot of rumours about Notch creating a new mob for the adventure update. Some speculated that there would be a boss mob that you'd need to defeat to earn rewards or continue your adventure. Others thought that the new mob would be appear in the npc villages.

Well, Notch has shed a little light on the subject of the new mob by revealing its name, its behaviour and what to be aware of!!

Going by the name of Endermen, this new monster is 3 meters tall, he moves blocks by himself and seems passive. But don't be fooled by the friendly giant! If you look directly at him he'll freeze and look directly back at you. As soon as you turn your back he becomes aggressive and will attack you!!! So get running!!

Endermen is a tall dark looking monster, a bit like one of those ships from War of the Worlds. He's got spindly legs which are disproportionate to his body. His white eyes are highly visible against the dark colour of his head - which makes him look pretty creepy.

Notch also hinted that Endermen will be able to teleport around the map. If he's too far away, he'll just teleport every second getting closer and closer to you.

Yeah, it's creepy!!!
