Jeb's been busy working on MCPE and Colbalt this week so he's left Minecraft 13w03a down to Dinnerbone. This weeks snapshot includes the new dropper block, stronger skeletons and zombies and also a new Minecart with hopper.

What is the Dropper?

The dropper is similar to a Dispenser but the subtle difference is that a dropper will not shoot items, it drops them instead. If you place a chest in front of the Dropper it will shift items from its inventory into the chest.

Try a simple test by adding an arrow to the Dropper. You’ll notice that it doesn’t shoot them at you, right?

It appears that when an item is ‘pumped’ out of the Dropper, it’s inventory does not decrease. So in effect you choose the type of item to dispense without consuming that item.
