The new Minecraft snapshot (12w26a) has been released a day early. It comes bundled with a nice big performance fix which should make it easier to play single player worlds on low spec computers. This was the biggest bug holding back the release of 1.3 so hopefully this will be the last of the snapshots for 1.3.

Apart from a bunch of critical bug fixes, the snapshot doesn't come with any new features.

It's also been a busy week for the entire Mojang crew. Two of the main guys, Lydia and Nathan, have moved to Sweden from their respective countries. It's been quite an experience for Nathan, but working closer to Jeb and the rest of the team will surely benefit the continual development of Minecraft for the future. We wish him the best in his new life in Sweden..
