Download Minecraft Snapshot 12w15a - New Secret Features Found

The next Minecraft 1.3 update is now available to download. Version 12w15a is a regular snapshot update but it contains secret features which are not disclosed on the change log. The new bukkit developer, Nathan Adams, requested that the changes be kept secret.

We've played around with the new update for a few hours and lucky for you, we've got a list of the hidden/secret features that are included in this version.

New features

Items are now stackable outside of your inventory. They can be thrown onto the ground and will remain stacked.
In creative mode, the Pick Block button now gives you the correct item when it's used. The Pick Block can also be used on mobs to create a corresponding spawn egg.
You can use the shift click method to wear armor. This is a time saving feature.
You can use shift click to put items onto the brewing stand
Dispensers can be used to deploy boats onto water and minecarts onto rails. Powered minecarts and storage minecarts can be used in a similar way.
In creative mode, right clicking a powered minecart will act as if you give it coal

Secrets

There was talk of a big secret hiding in this snapshot but it looks like the dispenser for boats and minecarts is the biggest of the new features. As with all early snapshots, this one does have its fair share of bugs, some of which are listed below.

Some Bugs

Pick Block crashes when used on pistons, ender dragons and other players
Pick Block doesn't work correctly on redstone dust. It gives you the dust block instead of just the dust.
Spawn eggs spawn baby mobs
Cacti can spawn inside sand blocks
Changing the GUI (screen scale) will cause the game to crash
