Download Minecraft 12w42a - Anvil Tweaks, Locked Redstone Repeaters

Minecraft 12w42a has been released a day early to give Jeb and Mojang time to get the official 1.4 version ready for next week. 12w42a comes with a tweaked anvil that's now cheaper to create and accepts wood/ingots/diamond as repair resources.

So the big changes in this snapshot are obviously the tweaked anvil which is now cheaper to create and the locked Redstone repeater. Jeb has hinted that changes to Redstone will make up the foundation of Minecraft 1.5. It could easily be called the Redstone overhaul with all the new changes planned.

This snapshot also comes with minor changes to the bat mob and updated language files pulled from crowdin.

New features included in 12w42a

• Anvi block now cheaper to craft and accepts raw resources as repair items
• Bats will no longer trample crops
• Bats will not trigger pressure plates
• Redstone repeaters can be locked by placing a powered repeater to its left or right hand side
• New option to hide a servers IP address
• Updated language files
• Lots of bug fixes
