Minecraft 1.2 is a combination of all the snapshots since version 1.1. Major features include jungle biome, ocelot mob, golem mob, zombies breaking down doors, anvil map format and many others.

If you're not keen on downloading and trying out the snapshots from Jeb then Minecraft 1.2 is your opportunity to experience some of the big changes since 1.1. We've seen some great additions since 1.1 was released back in January.

Minecraft 1.2 Feature List

Apart from bug fixes these are the major changes in Minecraft 1.2.

• Golem mobs that help villagers defend their homes
• Ocelot mobs that are like wildcats (small leopards)
• Jungle biomes
• Upside down stairs
• Anvil map format replaces old world format (supports more than 256 block types)
• Villagers repopulate villages (don't ask how!)
• Redstone light source
• New AI system for animals and mob (better path finding)
• Breeding wolves
• Flame item
