Cubeworld creator rejects Minecaft deal and the opportunity to join Notch and Mojang

minecraftWolfram von Funck, the developer of Cube World was due to join Mojang but has since decided to retain his independence and not move to Sweden. He will continue to develop Cube World independently.
When we first heard the news that Wolfram von Funck was going to join Notch and the rest of Mojang, we thought it was a great idea. But then we heard that he was only helping part time, and that Cube World would still be developed on the side. It seemed strange that he would provide ideas for Minecraft whilst on the other hand he'd add them to his own game?? Where would the balance be?
Anyway, it turns out that Wolfram has now turned down the opportunity to move to Sweden and help out with Minecraft. He will continue developing Cube World and release it sometime soon. It won't be called Cube World when it's released though.
Notch's Joke
When Notch broke the news, he also tweeted that he'll need to return Wolframs brain back to him, after recently joking that he would plug his brain straight into the computer. It's sad, but we get the impression that Notch was really looking forward to working with Wolfram to churn out some new Minecraft ideas.
We're guessing (and kind of hoping) that Notch is still looking for another hidden talent to work on Minecraft soon..
