Treyarch have posted several DLC4 teaser letters on their Facebook page, all relating to the original zombie outbreak during WW1. These leaked diary entries provides clues to DLC4 of Black Ops 2 and the final zombies map. Judging by the clues we're heading back to a classic zombies map with the original playable characters.
Letters
All of the letters are dated between 1914-1917 and the original Element 115 discovery.
First letter (Richtofen) - September 22 1914It's unclear who wrote this letter (probably Richtofen). It mentions the doctor and the discovery of the new element (Element 115). The writer also states he's worried by the changes he's seeing in his oldest friend.
Letter 1 ImageSecond Letter (Takeo) - October 6 1917Written by Takeo, this letter mentions the barbarian's drive for mechanisation which may yield weapons more devastating than the world has known. Takeo says that he will make sure that any weapons are taken for the benefit of Japan.
If you know your zombies storyline you'll know that Takeo was one of the playable characters from the original Black Ops zombies. He appeared in maps such as Moon, Ascension, Der Riese, Nacht der Untoten and several others.
The letters gives us a slight clue to the wonder weapon (mechanisation) but nothing conclusive.
Letter 2 ImageThird Letter (Dempsey) - November 19, 1917The third diary entry is by Dempsey and it discusses Fritz and prototype armoured weaponry which is being tested in France. The letter also mentions the Giant Metal Men which could end up being a new boss in DLC4.
Letter 3 ImageFourth Letter (Nikolai) - December 10, 1917Another mention of France in this letter points us again to France as the location of the zombies map in DLC4. Nikolai has been exiled to northern France from his motherland, where he reports that the kaisers war machine is gearing up.
Letter 4 ImageOriginal characters returning
These letters are the strongest indication yet that the original characters will be returning in DLC4. It's the first time we've heard Takeo and Dempsey mentioned since the end of the Black Ops and it would certainly make sense from the fans perspective.
Just to recap, the original four characters were:- Richtofen - a sadistic Nazi scientist
- Nikolai - Russian soldier
- Dempsey - US marine
- Takeo - Japanese soldier
Map Location
The clues in the diary entries are pretty clear - we're heading back to WW1 and France is the destination. There's been plenty of speculation about the exact location and the rumors about Paris and the Eiffel Tower seem to be spot on.
Some fans have mentioned the connections between the Black Ops 2 zombies maps. We had Green Run with lava, Die Rise with high rise buildings in the sky, Buried was underground..putting this all together we get:
Fire, Sky, Earth..
..the final piece connecting those dots is of course
water. Water and Paris don't naturally match so it'll be interesting where Treyarch take this one.
